Portable Network Graphic

PNG stands for portable network graphics. It is the raster graphics format associated with the .png filename extension. Unlike GIF format, the limitation of 256 colors does not hold with the PNG format. In fact this among other reasons was the motivation behind development of the PNG format to improve upon the GIF format. The PNG format however uses a single image format and thus does not support animations. Because the format was engineered to ease the distribution of graphic files across computer networks it is also not well suited for professional graphics.
BMP

Bitmap Image File

The bitmap image file format or bmp file for short, is a raster graphics image file. It uses a dot matrix data structure to represent pixelated points of color and to store digital image information. The format optionally supports compression and has wide cross platform support on all the major computer operating systems. Because bmp files are raster graphics files, image resolution is constrained meaning images in this format will not scale without loss in quality. This is in contrast to vector graphics images that can scale to arbitrary resolutions.

How to convert PNG to BMP

STEP 1

Select the image file in the PNG format to convert to the BMP format, you can select a file from your computer or your Google Drive or Dropbox account.                            

STEP 2

Choose the BMP format from the drop-down list as the output format, and click the Convert button, you can convert up to 5 files at the same time and a maximum size of up to 500 MB.

STEP 3
